Education, Innovation and Youth

Over the past two years we have been focusing on education and the youth. We have partnered up with governmental and non-governmental organisations in a bid to help boost non-formal education, innovation and ingenuity.

Pafos 2017 - European Capital of Culture

As the Platinum Sponsor of the Pafos 2017 European Capital of Culture, we are providing our multifaceted support.

Of immense significance to Cyprus is the fact that the European Capital of Culture promotes not only Cypriot history and culture, but more than that, it links the past to the present and the production of modern-day culture.

As the Platinum Sponsor, we stand by their side, supporting all their efforts to promote culture, creativity and innovation in the new European Capital of Culture.

Students from public and private schools had the rare opportunity to set questions on the very crucial subject of economy towards the Minister of Finance and the Bank’s CEO. The debate was a great success with the two men promising to repeat it in the near future.

Prior to this, another interesting debate was organized in the same framework on the subject of “Road Safety” with students setting questions to the related Ministers, the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works.

Actions 2017 (1st semester)

During the first half of the year a series of discussions were held with the President of the House of Representatives (March) and the Minister of Health (May), culminating in a highly interesting debate with the President of the Republic at the grounds of the Presidential Palace (May).

Also during this period Bank staff received fire-fighting training (outside the workplace), while in July members of staff were summoned to help with a fire in the Paphos district which was quickly extinguished by the Fire Department.

In June 2017, the Bank organised the first country-wide blood drive, with Reaction acting as one of the Bank’s main partners.
