Network Engineer (Ref. 822)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience. This role requires expertise in networking technologies and certifications, as well as a deep understanding of network infrastructure and security.

- Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with IT team members to plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
- Creates, updates, and maintains documentation, diagrams and other detailed instructions relevant to his/her area of responsibility.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff.
- Provides onsite or remote third level support relevant to his/her area of responsibility, within the set framework and agreed SLAs.
- Designs and tests recovery procedures for the components under his/her responsibility and ensures that data and configurations are backed up based on the backup and recovery policy, including Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity scenarios.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Installs, updates and maintains hardware and software to the latest releases, patches, etc., relevant to his/her area of responsibility.
- Performs design and analysis for new solutions and technologies, relevant to his/her area of responsibility.
- Investigates, diagnoses and resolves technical issues relevant to his/her area of responsibility, within the set and agreed SLAs.
- Executes any other activities assigned to him/her, that falls within and are relevant to his/her area of responsibility.
- Stay up to date with the latest networking technologies and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Professional networking certifications are required (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, etc.)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering.
- Proven experience with networking equipment and technologies.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
- Experience with load balancers, proxy, and firewalls.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds Orion, for functions like performance monitoring and fault management.
- Knowledge of security protocols and technologies like NAC, RADIUS and TACACS
- Expertise in developing and implementing technical standards and policies.
- Experience with cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure) will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of network automation tools and scripting languages (Ansible and Terraform) will be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with Cisco ACI technologies will be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with other networking vendors and technologies will be considered an advantage.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English.
