As part of SupportCY, Bank of Cyprus, along with businesses and organizations within the SupportCY network, joins forces to support the Cyprus Fire Service in flood prevention and response. Together, we organize a series of actions focused on preventive measures, response procedures, and how to protect human lives and property. Public awareness is critical for preparedness and effective management of the impacts of flooding events.

The campaign is supported by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus as well as local government authorities.

Additionally, the Retired Firefighters Association, with the support of the Fire Service, SupportCY of the Bank of Cyprus, the Union of Communities, and the Commissioner for the Development of Mountain Communities, launches a large “road trip” to inform residents of communities about flood risks and fire hazards in homes, whether from fireplaces or other causes.

SupportCY is also participating in the research project Sparrow Eu (Solid Preparedness and Resilience for Robust Operations during Disaster Wilderness), coordinated by the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus.
