Trading has started on the Athens Stock Exchange

The first day of trading of the Common Shares of the Bank of Cyprus on the Main Market of the Athens Stock Exchange began with the customary bell, which announces the start of the Stock Exchange session.

The reintroduction of Bank of Cyprus after 7 years to the Athens Stock Exchange is the next big step in its 125-year history, as it reinforces its strategy for long-term growth and value creation for both its shareholders and customers, while increasing its awareness among a wider base of institutional and private investors.

The start of trading at the Athens Stock Exchange was accompanied by the traditional ceremony, in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank, Mr. Takis Arapoglou, the Bank's CEO, Mr. Panikos Nikolaou, the Executive Director of the Finance Department, Ms. Eliza Livadiotou, the Managing Director, Athens Stock Exchange Group, Mr. Giannos Kontopoulos, the President of the Capital Market Commission, Ms. Vasiliki Lazarakou, executives and guests of the Bank.

"We decided to transfer to the Athens Stock Exchange with the belief that this way our share will increase its marketability even more since it will receive the attention of more analysts and investors, making it more directly comparable to banks that have a similar business model to ours in the region of Southeast Europe. An important recognition of our great progress was the approval of the supervisory authorities for the distribution of dividends for two consecutive years with the amount of the dividend amounting to 30% of our profitability for the fiscal year 2023", said the Chairman of the Bank's Board of Directors, Mr. Takis Arapoglou during his greeting.

At the same time, he added that the AXA is a mature European stock exchange that keeps pace with the stable economic development of Greece and warmly thanked the management for all the support.

It is noted that the Bank of Cyprus continues its activity and course of presence on the Cyprus Stock Exchange, remaining a stable pillar of the country's development.
